Mission Statement
BWA Horizon's Youth Ministry
The Horizons Youth and Children Leaders Training program was a created to encourage, enable and equip ministry leaders in their role as faithful followers of Jesus Christ, leading the youth and children of our world by loving example, by demonstrating faith in action and by reflecting a Christlike character that is pleasing to the Father and led by the Spirit. The goal of Horizons is twofold, to enable youth leaders invite youth and children to meet Jesus and to follow him forever as His disciples.
We as mentors and ministry leaders of Horizons seek to:
- Encourage – leaders to embrace a challenging job to reach out to youth and children of the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to create faithful disciples.
- Enable – leaders to do the tasks that they are often called to, sometimes with minimal training and resources, to lean on the savior for their direction and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
- Equip – leaders with resources, reflection and fresh insight into the lives of their youth, churches and communities to carry out the joyous and challenging work of ministering to contemporary youth and children inside and outside the church.
Every director, mentor, youth leader, or facilitator of Horizons is guided by the love and partnership we share in the work of training leaders as found in Philemon 1:4-7:
I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your love for all his holy people and your faith in the Lord Jesus. I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ. Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people.
